Very dry and barren, but interesting wild life (I even saw the giraffe). My only experience of Africa is Morocco and the toilets at the foot of the Atlas mountains seem to resemble the toilets you came across, and they did have water in Morocco. Just a bit inconvenient for the female of the species.
